The following poem "Woodland Voice" came to me on the drive to and from Gold Creek for my gig at Camp Mak-A-Dream. "Woodland Voice." Within my being resides a deep love for wild, free things, Of the life and beauty of the dark wood It was you, which instilled in me worldly goods Alone gift not the happiness which sings. To your woodland voice, the river and mountains Rejoice on this gleaming day of muted haze With dappled sun a patterned maze unfolds As black-eyed Susan's glow and fade Now hold enchantment in their thrall Tall, lodge pole pine trees stretch their limbs They sigh; content to offer shelter to the birds. The reward of a thing well done is to have done it." - Ralph Waldo Emerson Add Comment When Autumn ...tiptoed in today 10/19/2011
When Autumn ...tiptoed in today A hundred golden leaves rained down Content to hear My spirit's healing song. I walked in silent reverence... Through the rustle of aspen leaves As woodland's voice echoes humble with accord Red dragonflies dart by humming, "Summer is done." Eveline Maria Smith © September 2005 Now the Overland Stage ride through scenic Montana in route to the old mining ghost town of Pioneer is also located in Gold Creek near the camp entrance. My mother, Anna loves Westerns so for mom's visit Big W booked this wild ride and fun adventure. It was a hoot! October 15 – 24, 2005: Wayne and I experienced a soggy east coast. When in Massachusetts visiting family Big W and I took credit for stopping the rain and bringing the sunshine! Day 1 we headed to Boston and visited the penguins at the aquarium… a definite must after seeing "The March of the Penguins." Day 2 it was a beautiful autumn day and we headed to the apple orchards to indulge in some hot cider, apple dumplings and locate the perfect pumpkin… Oh, we picked apples too. It was fun and it felt good to gather together as a family. The two weeks prior of steady rain did quite a number on the roads. Day 3 we headed for Connecticut after breakfast and visiting a ranch in a beautiful secluded setting that provided a loving home for some gorgeous wild horses from the west… Montana. I grew up in Southbury and my mom moved back there in 2003 after her husband, Al passed away. Prior to this visit when I would travel back east for a visit I always made a point to drive through the area… amazed at the difference from the quaint small New England town that I experienced when first arriving there from Germany 45 years ago. This visit was unique in that it presented me with a feeling of nostalgia, a memory of being younger… returning to something I had lived before. November 2005: Big W, Rosie and I celebrated Thanksgiving in gratitude and love with our daughter,Heidi's family. There was about two inches of snow and slush on 4 th of July pass when we headed over on Wednesday the 24 th. Heidi prepared a wonderful holiday dinner! Early evening Heidi, Caitlyn and Chuck joined us back at the hotel for a soak and swim in the "Hot Tub!" February 2006: 10/19/2011
My experience and participation in Dr. Masaru Emoto’s 3rd Hado Instructor School held at the Hawaii Naniloa Resort in Hilo, Hawaii February 13 –18, 2006 was "Good Hado..." awesome vibrations in love, gratitude and peace! Hado (pronounced Hadou to rhyme with shadow) literally means "wave" and "move." It is the subtle vibrational pattern in all matter and is the smallest unit of energy. "Hado creates words. Words are the vibration of nature. Therefore beautiful words create beautiful nature. Ugly words create ugly nature. This is the root of the universe." ~Masaru Emoto The foundation of good HADO By Robert Berman HA’a As it was done before many times, and as it is before us once again today. The breath that breathed upon the image that we now see in front of us was done in memory of the old ones. Built before us in honor and in recognition of our elders in order to hold the energy of the Great Spirit here amongst our people of this land. Every movement that we place upon the work that we have in front of us is like the very breath that we breathe. In and out, in and out, each and every single breath giving us the precious gift of life. If we breathe hard and are not conscious of our breath, we then make our bodies and the things around us sick. If we work for nothing more then a simple way to find a means to an end, we will miss the blessing in-between. And if we miss the blessing in-between, we can say that we have already died. For our memory will be lost from our once known image that our very precious inner soul seeks to find and hold. If we labor with the work that is before us in our hearts in prayer, and in holding every breath in our knowingness that it is a gift from the creator, we then place this energy and this intention into that in which we do. If we hope to restore and uphold this energy, we must place the same energy into the work that we do. If prayers and blessings were the original foundation in how it was built, then prayers and blessings are how it must be maintained in order to restore it and to hold its energy for the people of our land. Here before us lays not a construction job that simply needs to be over with. Instead, a powerful blessing that is waiting for each of us to participate in. Here today the Great Spirit asks for our hearts to return to the place where we remember that each and every breath is a blessing. We must ask ourselves these questions, is the labor that I am asked to do for or against my will? Is it for or against the will of our Creator? Are the thoughts and the words that we speak and how we share with each other for us or against the ways of the Great Spirit? Is my will and the will of the Great Spirit as One? If we honor and respect that which we do, then honor and respect becomes the foundation before us, a foundation that goes way beyond that of the flesh. If we restore this very precious and very sacred work with this gratitude in our hearts, all who come before it will also receive the blessing from the love that we bring forth to it. * * * * * * * May each of us spread good Hado upon the Earth. Thank you Dr. Emoto Many Blessings to all! I remember the first time I experienced seeing HA’a photograph and thinking, such beautiful work! I’ll have to ask HA’a what techniques he uses to achieve such an affect. Imagine my amazement in discovering it is a photograph and not a painting. www.rememberthewater.com Carpe diem (CAR-pay DEE-um) "Seize the day" 10/19/2011
Friends of the road: Olivia and Richard Giles: They are posing with a pilgrim in 2001 standing in front of Santiago's Cathedral. Heather and I met up with them walking their 2nd Camino de Santiago 2003. Nothing quite describes the emotion one feels when climbing those steps to the main entrance the first time and you come face to face with 1188 Portico de la Gloria or when you place your hand in/on the Tree of Jesse under the statue of St James while reflecting on how many hands it must have taken to wear the stone into this shape. Ultreia Olga Dickie: The popular start Point in France is St-Jean-Pied-de-Port, on the other side of the Pyrenees from Spain. We both turned "50" in 2003 on the road to Santiago. Cheers!! To the good times… Wayne and I celebrated our 30th Anniversary on April 14, 2003! Our first grandchild, Caitlyn is due to arrive on July 9, 2003! It was Mark's and Wayne's encouragement and support that led to the 500 mile Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage May 6, to June 30, 2003 for daughter, Heather and myself. We walked from St Jean Pied de Port, France by way of Route Napoleon over the Pyrenees into Spain from there it was... Ever onward to Santiago de Compostela. Rafael Chacon and Andy Laue headed out just one year prior May 6, 2002 to walk their Camino de Santiago. Dove Lullaby 10/19/2011

It is early July, a Saturday, late afternoon... I'm lounging in my backyard by the waters edge under the umbrella of Cotton Woods, listening to nature's music as my being is caressed with the ebb and flow of summer and I'm consumed with emotion for indeed: I am blessed, I am thankful for my partner, family, comrades and friends... for my Soul Mates. Taking time together. Chatting over tea, to laugh, to watch the sunset, look at the stars and gaze at the moon. Time, even, not to talk... to be still. Time so precious we feel driven to fill every available moment with conversation as if silence were a luxury we cannot afford. From the ebb and flow of life, a few people are selected for us by fate. We never would have chosen these comrades - life chose them for us. Thrown together on this island of living, we stretch to understand each other and are invigorated by the stretching. Then communication becomes communion and one is nourished as one never is by words for blessed is the influence of one fine, loving soul on another. Namaste... {The God in me speaks to the God in you…} December 2005: 12/02/2010
This Christmas photo from Caitlyn is adorable; oh my goodness it's really been 2.5 years ago that my granddaughter was born. It was the moment when I held her in my arms and she smiled as she grasped my finger with her tiny little hand that I made the conscious choice to be responsible in being and doing all that I personally can to help heal the environment and to be an advocate for world peace. The first step in bringing peace into the world is to become conscious of the peace that already exists within you. It doesn't require a degree in science to see what is transpiring in our environments at the individual, community and global levels. It’s time to wakeup! Our world is at a major crossroads. And the time is at hand for "ALL" to come together in unity acting and working responsibly. Please I ask… no I plead, realize "NOW" that without good, balanced habitat; clean water, fresh air, wild lands and secure wildlife there will be no life for this or future generations. I have always been one to view my glass as being half full and aware how I act today does affect how I am tomorrow. "IT ALL" matters! I believe individually and collectively we create and make a positive difference every moment of our lives by affirming positive. By being centered in gratitude and in love we can create a life and world of lasting compassion and peace. | AuthorWrite something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
